I wanted to post a praise report of God’s protection and healing. Saturday night during the 6th inning of our church softball game. I was running to second base when my left leg was hyperextended I then fell and landed on my back. I felt a lot of pain going through my left knee.
To give you a little history, I’m a huge sports fan and I love to play pickup basketball, softball, football and golf. I have played countless games growing up as a kid and as an adult. God has protected me from any broken bones, pulled muscles or anything serious. Back to Saturday while I was on the ground all I could think of is my friend who tore his ACL a couple years ago. I remember watching it happen and it always makes me cringe just thinking about it.
What was different with me was I did not hear any popping noises or any of the things you hear when that sort of injury occurs. I felt like I could get up. So I got up and began walking it off. I could jog with a limp. I figured everything was fine. I drove myself home and it began to swell up a little. The next day I woke up, I was having a hard time putting pressure on it. I made it to church and everyone was telling me to go to the doctor.
Sunday night I called my parents to let them know of my injury. They prayed for me and like everyone else told me to go to the doctor. Monday morning, I went to the doctor to get examined. The doctor checked my knee and confirmed the hyperextension. She told me that I had no tears of any of the ligaments because I had full movement and no swelling but I did have a knee strain. She mentioned that I not play sports for a week and perscribed some anti-inflammatory medicine. All that to say, praise God for His protection and healing touch. I’m relieved and thankful my injury does not require surgery.
If you are feeling pain today pray for God’s healing. God is able to heal you.
I received Charlie Hall “Flying into Daybreak” cd for my birthday. As I said earlier, I was not a big fan of his early album Porch and Altar but this one is a must have. I really enjoy Micah 6:8, Bravery, and of course Marvelous Light which was on Passion Everything Glorious. He did a great job on this album. All the songs are very good lyrically which has always been his strong point. It is a God-centered album. These songs are wonderful for private and corporate worship.
Another gift I received is Paul Baloche “A Greater Song”. I love birthday’s. I’m very impressed with this album as well. The first song Hosanna which is an Integrity classic great upbeat song. A Greater Song which was also on Matt Redman’s Beautiful News cd. Here’s what I love about the interactive side of this cd. When you put it in your computer you can print the lead sheets for all the songs to be used in your own services and devotional time. This is a great benefit for those who are used to spending the $12.00 for a songbook. Again, highly reccommended for private and corporate worship.
Vikki Beeching “Painting the Invisible” I have not had time to let this one marinate. My first impression is it reminds me a little of Jennifer Knapp. Great acoustic guitar worship.
I got a mailer for a Bowie Baysox game. They are having a faith night at the ballpark. Thursday, June 28, 2007. The cost for tickets would be $20. They are having a pregame concert with Hawk Nelson that starts at 5pm. If anyone’s interested in going to this event let me know.
Since this is a dry time for worship cd releases. I want to hear from someone who has the Charlie Hall Flying into Daybreak cd? How do you like it? I typically haven’t purchased Charlie Hall cds because I didn’t really enjoy Porch and Altar. I think Charlie Hall is a good writer and worship leader just his individual cd’s have not impressed me. From what I understand Charlie Hall’s recent cd is really good. I love Passion, Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin, Tim Hughes and David Crowder obviously, so would I like the new Charlie Hall or not?
What about Vikki Beeching? Anyone like the last two cd’s she has put out?
I posted the photos of the Manna Food Center on the Shining Stars kids blog.
There will be no Passion 07 cd released this year. My guess is it would be too close to release after they put out the Best of Passion so far. If you are interested they do have Passion 07 podcasts available on iTunes.
Sorry I had to delete the message board because of spammers. We will stick to the blogs. It is easier to monitor.
Casting Crowns new cd, The Altar and the Door will be released on August 28, 2007.
I was reading the founders blog. They made mention of a new website called relevantrevolution.com
They take sermons and put them to music. Interesting idea. This would appeal to a younger demographic. I would not advise this becoming our standard teaching method, however it can be a useful tool.
Take a gander.
